Permitting can be one of the most daunting phases of a design project—but you don’t have to do it alone. We help guide your project through this critical step from initial submittals to final approvals, working to make the process as smooth and efficient as possible. The owner of Callender Street Studio has successfully led many projects through planning and building department reviews in Bozeman, Gallatin County, Park County, and beyond, including projects within historic districts.

Remodels & Additions

Callender Street Studio has experience working across a wide range of remodels and additions. We understand that not every project begins with a blank slate, and we’re comfortable navigating the quirks and challenges of existing and older homes. Whether your goal is to thoughtfully expand or simply breathe new life into your space, we approach each project with care, creativity, and respect for what’s already there.

Construction Administration

Our involvement doesn’t end when construction begins. We remain engaged throughout the build to help ensure the project is executed according to the design intent. From site visits and coordination with the contractor to troubleshooting budget adjustments or answering questions as they arise, we’re available as a consistent resource during construction—just a phone call away.

Site Feasibility + Conceptual Studies

We evaluate homes and potential building sites before you buy, reviewing zoning, setbacks, topography, and other site-specific factors to determine what can realistically be built. This helps buyers make informed decisions and avoid surprises during the design and permitting process.

We can also create simple, visual studies that show how a home or cabin could sit on your property, exploring scale, orientation, and relationship to the landscape. These studies help clients and realtors visualize potential designs and make confident decisions early in the process.

The studio focuses on designing high-quality spaces for high-quality living, with an emphasis on building strong relationships and delivering a highly personalized experience. I aim to offer thoughtful, tailored guidance and to serve as an approachable resource for both clients and contractors—helping projects meet design, budget, and timeline goals, all while enjoying the process.

My design ethos is rooted in the ongoing pursuit of balance: functional yet beautiful, realistic yet innovative, familiar yet unexpected. In both life and design, I’ve found that the most compelling solutions live within these dualities.
